I purchased this book as I was looking for a good primer on surface science. This is a good text as that it does not get lost in the details but has good coverage of the major topics.
The writing was, unfortunately, much more abstruse than expected since it is touted as a text for undergraduate OR graduate level studies. While it does provide a lot of information, it leaves much to be desired (especially considering the price).
This book was written by five participating authors. It is not better than Hans Lth's book, "Solid surfaces, Interfaces and Thin Films", but maybe of comparable quality.
